World Of Warcraft…?
I am lvl 18 undead Warlock doing quests in the silverpine forest area… problem is some of the quests are getting harder and I would like to know at what lvl I would get a new upgraded pet…the voidwalker is gettin kinda weak for some of the mobs I am going up against… also, I have upgraded my spells, but it seems some are just noty as strong as they should be… any advice?? Thanks
Yes, I mean Pyrewood village and a couple others also… th hig concentration of lvl 20-21 enemies overwhelms my pet and, well, im basically paper so I get shredded pretty quickly after the VW drops… I suppose I could just grind it out till lvl 20 or so.. I took the zeppelin to the other continent, but , ok, maybe this is silly, but I didnt care for the desert as much as I do hunting the forest . I wanted to be sure I hadnt missed something is all..Thanks so much Kattiara.
You’ll get the Succubus at Level 20, however, an important part of using your pets is making sure that you’re using them the right way.
The Voidwalker is meant mainly to be a tank. When fighting an enemy, the idea is to send him in first, so that the mob attacks the VW instead of you – freeing yourself up to cast spells at him from a safe distance.
And you’re right, it IS a kind of weak tank. If you take on multiple enemies at once, be prepared for it to die. That’s why you constantly want to be making more Soulshards off enemies, so you can resummon him whenever you need.
The Succubus, when you get her, is used most commonly as a way to CC (Crowd Control) enemies. She’s able to “mesmerize” one enemy, basically making it so that the particular enemy won’t attack. However, as soon as you damage that enemy in any way, the mez breaks. So the Succubus, while useful, isn’t going to be an upgraded, super powerful pet that lets you just breeze through things – like I said, it’s all about using them properly.
With all that said, you said that some of the quests are getting harder – are you possibly referring to the ones down around Pyrewood Village in the south of the zone? If so, these are elite quests. Stay far, far away from these until you either (a) have a group of 3 or 4 people to work with, or (b) are about 10 levels higher. Seriously, elite quests are usually almost impossible to solo at the level you get them at.
So you have a couple options. The next zone in the Eastern Kingdom you’d want to hit after Silverpine is Hillbrad Foothills (you get there from the south-eastern exit of Silverpine). The zone is really for levels 20-30, so you’re a bit low right now. You can work on non-elite quests if you have any left, or simply grind the last couple levels out.
The other thing to do would be to head to the other continent, and quest in the Barrens for a while. There are ones there to last you well into your mid 20′s. But of course, then you have to deal with the Barrens. Your choice.
Edit: Yeah, Pyrewood’s a pain, to be sure. If you aren’t fond of the Barrens (neither am I, lol!), there’s one other place you could try, forgot to mention it before. It you go first to the Barrens, then head out the northern exit of the zone, you’ll be in Ashenvale. This is a foresty type place like Silverpine, and it’s generally pretty good from about level 18 or 19 till the later 20s. The horde camp is called Splintertree Post, you’ll get to it if you follow the road north and then to the east. See if you like it there. =)
