world of warcraft profession advice?

Currently I am a 450 miner and a Jewelcrafter (Level 80), and I was wondering if it would be viable to drop mining for engineering. The reasons I have for doing this is because next patch engineers are getting some pretty cool stuff, and my dailys can fund the necessary expenses. (I’m planning on making the shift after the patch is released to capitalize on all the other engineer’s needs for titansteel bars)
Get rid of jewelcrafting? Hah! Jewelcrafting is one of the most in demand and profitable professions. Plus I’ve collected a lot of recipes, and have already invested a lot of time + gold into it.

If you can afford it, sure. Although I heard that engineering goes well with mining – and so does jwc. It also depends on your class and whether you want to do more PvE or PvP. But if you can afford leveling engineering… it is a very cool profession, so why not? :)
