Starting World of Warcraft?
I just bought and installed the game for the first time. When I click on it in the start menu, first it says downloading new patch, then it changes screens and says checking “Wow-2.4.0-enUS-patch .exe. Then that screen goes away, and thats it. It just does the same thing over and over and i never get a chance to hit the “play game” button.
It’s a bit hard to work out what’s going on here.
Even though the game is new, you probably need to wait while the game downloads the patch. This is 923MB so can take several hours. You won’t be able to play the game until this patch is downloaded.
If your computer hasn’t downloaded the patch yet, try downloading it from a site near you, just put the whole patch name in google to find someone offering it. Then run the exe before loading WoW, it shouldn’t go and look for the patch then.
If however, you have already downloaded and run the patch, and yet WoW still won’t load, you might need to try a full reinstall of WoW, including running the patch. Make a copy of the patch exe file somewhere so u don’t need to download it again.
