world of warcraft patch’s?
i need help with patch’s for Wow an all the time i do one it is slow….have have stopped for like 2 months and im downloading the patch wow-2.3.0-enUS-patch.exe….713mb……and it is taking to long..im at like 16% and i whant it to go fater…i got like 1 1/2 g
of ram..so if you know any was of making it go any faster plz help me and ty
RAM has very little to do with internet connection speed. The bottleneck is usually somewhere in the connection itself. Do you have broadband? If not, then that’s likely the slowup (look at the size of the patch… if it’s huge then dialup will take a while). If that’s the case, then upgrade your connection service. Otherwise, it’s pretty much out of your hands — likely somewhere in the multiple computers and access points handling the data stream to you. I believe Blizzard does handle patches through peer-to-peer transfers, to lighten the load on their servers, especially on patch days; so you may be downloading even partially from a slower peer. You *could* cancel and restart the download in hopes of getting a faster connection, in that case.
Or one of the servers on the backbone you’re on that handles the data for your area may be on the blink or bogged down with traffic. In that case, you’re stuck; have patience. The only thing you could do differently would be to move to an area that is handled by a different backbone — and that’s rather like shooting a fly with an elephant gun.
