The paladin is the most versatile of any World of Warcraft class. Simply by changing your talent spec you can become an effective healer, tank, or damage dealer.

You can literally fit into any class role with a Paladin; that’s why playing the class is so fun. But what is the best Paladin leveling spec that will get you to level 80 fastest?

Instead of wasting precious gold on countless respec’s, I’m going to tell you exactly how to spec your Paladin and help you get to level 80 faster.

Retribution

The Retribution Talent Tree is the Paladin’s main damage dealing talent tree and is the best paladin leveling spec. When spec’ing for Retribution, you’ll want a hefty two-hand axe, sword, or mace and you’ll want gear with Strength and Stamina on it.

Leveling 10-20

The first thing you want to do when leveling your Paladin is make a straight-shot for Seal of Command. This seal is the bread and butter of Retribution and will allow you to deal out much more damage with two-handed weapons than with other seals. This is what makes Retribution the best Paladin leveling spec.

I advise grabbing Benediction, Improved Judgments, and Heart of the Crusader on the way to get Seal of Command.

Once you have Seal of Command, you’ll basically be judging it every time your Judgment cool-down is refreshed.

Leveling 21-37

The next phase is to get the talents Pursuit of Justice, Conviction, Sanctity of Battle, Two-Handed Weapon Specialization, and then Sanctified Retribution (in that order).

Make sure you keep Retribution Aura active at this point, since it is does more damage with this talent.

Finally put 3 points into Vengeance.

Leveling 38-39

At this point we’re going to put some filler talents back near the top of the Retribution tree. The reason we skip these talents until now is because they aren’t crucial to leveling like the other talents that we were picking up near the middle of the talent tree.

Put 2 points into Vindication.

Leveling 40-49

Go ahead and grab Repentance. You don’t really need it for leveling (it can be handy at times), but you’ll need it in order to get Fanaticism at 44.

Put 2 points into Art of War and 2 points into Judgments of the Wise (we’ll fill this talent out later).

Now grab Fanaticism. This talent is simply amazing. It increases your critical strike chance will Judgments by 18%! Finally snag Sanctified Wrath.

Leveling 50-60

At this point you’ll be able to get Crusader Strike. This gives you another button to push along with Exorcism and Judgment.

Put 3 points into Sheath of Light and now backtrack and put that final point into Sanctified Wrath.

This opens up Righteous Vengeance. Get that and then again backtrack and get Improved Blessing of Might.

Now you can get Divine Storm which gives you another ability to throw into your main damage rotation.

Leveling 60 and Beyond

From Level 60 and on, I like to first pick up Divine Strength out of the Protection talent tree and then have plenty of free talent points to fill in Retribution or get some more Protection goodies as I’m leveling.

I hope this little article helps you choose how to level your Paladin with the best Paladin leveling spec.

If you follow my layout, you’re sure to save time and gold and cut your leveling time in half.
