Blizzard’s interface does not provide you with raiding content for World of Warcraft that is very effective. In fact, it took 4+ years for them to add maps of the dungeons. To be a serious raider like the pros, you’re going to need to get add-ons to make your job easier.
Many guilds provide a list of recommended add-ons to make sure everyone is watching the same screen and information. It’s best to become familiar with these at the early stages, before raiding. Doing this while still only holding a 5 man dungeon will give you the experience you need to implement advanced strategies when you have a 25 man raiding content.
Omen
With this the measuring and reporting of your threat level and everyone else’s in your party from their spells, attacks and taunts. Plus, you canmonitor where you stand to avoid pulling agro from the main tank.
Recount
Keeps track of the DPS and Healing numbers of each player and the totals being put out by the raid as a whole. You will be able to tell if you are hitting the boss with enough to beat and enrage timer.
Deadly Boss Mods
Almost every guild on the internet requires this mod because of its capacity to help. The Deadly Boss Mod provides detailed strategies, timing and any
adjustments necessary for each boss. This add-on does not burn up your memory and it has the ability to send a whisper to anyone trying to contact you while you’re reading.
Cooldown Count
It’s hard to keep track of cooldowns when you’re gauging the little clocks on the abilities. This cooldown count helps you determine how much time you have left until your abilities come back up.
SmartRes
This add-on makes resurrection easier because it coordinates all your different rezzers. It allows you to save time and mana to get back from a wipe faster than you otherwise would. If you’re still running instances, installing these mods for your game gets you used to them as you start playing at higher levels. Providing you the opportunity to practice and prepare for what might happen in an advanced raid. Be sure you turn them off when you don’t need it to reserve memory and lag, this way you will enjoy more of your interface while not in a raid.
