I need some help configuring my security settings (details below)?
So, despite my efforts, I havent been able to figure out what I need to alter on my security setting after downloading the latest world of warcraft patch, any assistance would be appreciated, if you can give me step by step instructions, I will give you best answer.
(Below is what I found from the blizzard website)
After patching the game, some security software may no longer recognize the game client and prevent connecting to the servers. Players may need to update security software to grant online access to the World of Warcraft (Wow.exe) and World of Warcraft Launcher (Launcher.exe) executables. If you have difficulties reconfiguring your security software you should contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
I am going to guess that you are using WinXP. If this is the case then you need to go to the control panel and open the Firewall settings. Once there you need to go to the exceptions tab and click the add program. Be sure to add both of these programs to the exceptions list. If you are using a third party firewall, they should have a way for you to do the same, and that will only be slightly different in that you won’t be able to use control panel to make these changes.
