world of warcraft improve performance
How can I make my games run faster?
I don’t know much about computers, but currently I just want my games to run faster. Games I play: World of Warcraft, War Rock ( a first-person shooter ), and Left 4 Dead 2. I had a lot more but I removed them to free up a little space to improve performance. War Rock runs at about 90-120 FPS when I am in a game, But Left 4 Dead 2 runs from 10-35 max in a game. This is with both games at lowest settings possible. I use Game Booster and Fraps to indicate my FPS. I was planning on installing Call of Duty: World at War to my comp, but I know it won’t run good.
-My comp: HP Pavilion a1630n
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 4600+
2.41 GHz, 1.98 GB of RAM and I’m on Windows XP.
—What do I do?
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE
Hard drive space has absolutely nothing to do with the framerate. Deleting games won’t make it faster, installing more games won’t make it slower. The biggest problem with that computer is the graphics card- an Nvidia 6150 if my Google-foo is working right. That is a low-end graphics card that is currently 6 generations old. It simply isn’t able to process the newer graphics fast enough. Get a new PCI Express graphics card- your computer has the slot for it. Something like an ATI Radeon 4650 would work if you don’t want to spend too much money.
