world of warcraft help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
I bought the world of warcraft game today, no expansion packs, just world of warcraft. It is a PC, MAC, DVD-rom game (thats what it says at the top) So, first is this the right one to installl the game? Ok so i put in the disk and it took me to an installing window. (with a background of a dragon lol) and i installed the game (this took a short amount of time, around 1 hour.) then it finished and exited. then i went to the world of warcraft icon on my desktop and opened it to get a main window and it was downloading patches? then it clicked off and took me to a downloading and installing window. Now this is on 4% and has taken a LONG time and it has to download 3.4gb… is this supposed to happen? is it now downloading patches etc? and if this is what it is supposed to do, what do i do next? answer is gratly need and appreciated
I will be voting for best answer so can they be detailed so i can understand too? thanks
yup, it needs to download patches, because its stuff that effects the content of the game.
for example, on the disk you bought, the city of stormwind does not have a harbor. however, one of those patches that is installing, stormwind has a harbor. it changes a bunch of stuff too.
unfortunately, this is one of the downsides to installing Wow from scratch. the disks themselves go really quick, then you spend a while waiting for patches and updates. hope you have a quick internet connection and a good computer.
also, dont listen to the haters. WoW is a great game. the people who say it sucks have either never played it, or played it and sucked at it.
