Is there a Federal law that prohibits the sale of virtual accounts i.e., accounts for online MMORPG?
Buying and selling of characters or accounts (World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI, Vanguard, Everquest)
There are no laws, but some of the game devalopers (I know World of Warcraft for sure) have rules against it. Blizzard Entertainment (the makers of World of Warcraft) retain ownership of any virtual property from the game (your character, the gold that you have). So you cannot sell what you do not own.
Plus I know Ebay now has a rule against selling online resources (gold, accounts, etc) through them.
