how do i buy world of warcraft?
so i just recently started playing the ten day free trial version of the game and so far i’ve really liked it.. besides the fact that it is very addicting and seems to consume my time… but i’m thinking about buying the game and i dont know HOW to buy it. i mean do i have to buy all the previous games up to the latest one, or do i just buy the first one and thats that? well i also don’t know how much it would cost and an estimate would be really nice : ) oh and one more thing would it just be more benefitial to buy the battlepack? i think that thing has all the games in it right? ( i mean if thats what i need to do: buy all the games up to the latest one)
In order to play Wow with access to everything in the game, you need to purchase the basic game, along with both the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions.
However, you can just upgrade your trial account by buying the basic game, which will give you a month of play time and give you access to everything in the base game, up to level 60. You won’t be able to roll Blood Elves or Draenei, learn the jewelcrafting profession, roll a Death Knight nor go to either Outland or Northrend (or their sanctuary cities, Shattrath and Dalaran). With Burning Crusade, you get access to Blood Elves and Draenei (and their starting areas), and the jewelcrafting profession. You also gain access to Outland and Shattrath. Access to Death Knights and Northrend are gained by purchasing WotLK. Why do it this way? It is a smaller initial investment and you can purchase the expansions when you level your character to the levels needed for the expansions.
A battlepack might be a better idea if you are wanting to jump right in and upgrade your game all the way. Check prices on worldofwarcraft.com and check with local retailers. I know right now, Wal-mart is carrying the game and expansions separately. It is hit or miss whether they carry the battle pack. The battle pack MAY be less expensive overall than buying the three separately. Just check prices to be sure.
Keep in mind that if you are installing the base game and both expansions at the same time, install all of them and upgrade your account before logging in to play. If you log in between installs, you will be prompted to download several game patches each time. Doing this three times is a HUGE waste of time. Install, then exit the installer, then install the next expansion.
